As one grows older, his eye lens start to get cloudy. This defect of eye is called Cataract. It can be corrected by laser treatment. One may also face hypermetropia(long sightedness) or myopia(short sightedness). Both of them are caused due to change in focal length of the eye lens. Hypermetropia can be corrected using a convex lens whereas myopia can be corrected using concave lens .
