a)to achieve the minimum current flowing,
we connect the resistors in series connection!
since in parallel connection since resistance in series connection is highest!
b)to achieve max. current flowing, connection must be in parallel as the resistance in parallel connection is minimum!

a)in series connection we have
v=6v
r=5+10ohm=15ohm
I=v/r=6/15amp=2/5=0.4amp.
b)
in parallel connection we have
v=6
1/r= 1/5+1/10=(2+1)/10=3/10
then r=10/3ohm
I=v/r=(3×6)/10=18/10amp=1.8amp
