when there are 2 password of contrasting character s present together.. the distribution of member of one pair is Independent of the distribution of the other......I.e in dihybrid cross

so it is not applicable in monohybrid cross.

Mendels law of independent assortment states about independent distribution of member factors in gametes for crossing of two characteristics I.e in DIHYBRID CROSS

so in MONOHYBRID CROSS, it will not apply or govern

For MONOHYBRID CROSS , Mendels law of dominance is applicable
