Explanation:

As the stomata open the solute concentration is reduced. This makes the water from the guard cells to move away into neighbouring cells. Now, guard cells become flaccid with no water. They collapse against each other and result in the closing of stomata and vise versa

 \underline \mathbb{ANSWER}

\bold\green{\underline{Opening\:and\:closing\:of\:guard\:cell:-}}

》Opening and closing of stomata is an important event in the process of photosynthesis. Along with gaseous exchange large amount of water loss(i.e.transpiration) also occurs through stomata So, plants close stomata when they do not need carbon dioxide and want to conserve water.

The opening and closing of stomata is caused by the change in the turbidity of guard cells.

》A plant cell is said to be turgid when it is fully insulated with water due to high sugar content in it. When guard cells are tirgid stomatal pore open and when guard cell lose water the stomatal pores close.
