➥ Let's solve a riddle. Suppose that you are standing in one of the biggest palaces in the world.
ㅤIn the palace, there are five guards. Each guard has been entrusted with five rooms & each room contains five pugs. Each pug has four baby pugs.

Now you have to find that how many legs are there in the palace ?​

  • Number of guards = 5
  • Number of rooms entrusted upon each guard = 5
  • Number of pugs in each room = 5
  • Number of baby pugs with each pug = 4

ᴛᴏ ғɪɴᴅ:–

  • Number of legs present in the palace

sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ:

First of all I myself am standing in the palace = 2 legs

Each guard has 2 legs.

That means, total legs of guards present in the palace = 5 × 2 = 10

Total rooms entrusted with the guards = 5 × 5 = 25

Total pugs present in the palace if one room has 5 pugs each = 25 × 5 = 125

[Note - Each pug has 4 legs]

Therefore, total legs of pugs present in the palace = 125 × 4 = 500

Total number of baby pugs if each pug has 4 baby pugs each = 125 × 4 = 500

Therefore, total number of legs of baby pugs present in the palace = 500 × 4 = 2000

  • Now we can add the number of legs we have got to find out the total number of legs present in the whole palace:

Total number of legs present in the palace = 10 + 500 + 2000 + 2 = 2512

Solution:–

We have given that, there are 5 guards in palace and each guard has 5 rooms

➟ No. of guards \times No. of rooms entrusted by a guard

➟ 5 \times 5

❝ Total number of rooms = 25 ❞

Total number of rooms in palace is 25

Now, Each room has five pugs

➟ Total no. of rooms \times no. of pugs in each room

➟ 25 \times 5

❝ Total number of pugs = 125 ❞

Total number of pugs in palace is 125

Now, Each pug has 4 baby pugs

➟ Total no. of pugs \times no. of baby pugs each pug have

➟ 125 \times 4

❝ Total number of baby pugs = 500 ❞

Total number of baby pugs in palace is 500

Now,

✧ Total number of pugs = Pugs + Baby pugs

✧ Total number of pugs = 125 + 500

➟ = 625

✪ Total number of pugs legs = 625 \times 4

➟ = 2500

There are 5 guards in the palace:–

✪ 5 \times 2 = 10 legs

And yeah I'm also there, so

⁂ Total number of legs = pug's legs + guard's legs + mine legs

⁂ Total number of legs = 2510 + 10 + 2
