it is a defect of vision in which a person a is not able to see the distant objects clearly.
it is cause due to high converging power of a lens and eye ball being too long.... it can be corrected by using a concave lens..

Defects of the eye: Myopia: (nearsightedness) This is a defect of vision in which far objects appear blurred but near objects are seen clearly. ... This occurs when the eyeball is too short or the refractive power of the lens is too weak. Hyperopia can be corrected by wearing glasses/contacts that contain convex lenses.
Myopia Treatment. Nearsightedness canbe corrected with glasses, contact lenses or refractive surgery. Depending on the degree of your myopia, you may need to wear your glasses or contact lenses all the time or only when you need very clear distance vision, like when driving, seeing a chalkboard or watching a movie.
