hi buddy thank you for asking this question

acute diseases are severe but are less harmful that chronic diseases because acute diseases are for short time(2-3days) so they are not able to cause enough harm to the body in short period of time but chronic diseases(can be for lifetime also) are less harmful but for long duration time it harms the body and hence become much harmful that then acute diseases.
hope it's helps!!!!

Acute diseases last for a short time whereas chronic diseases are long term diseases. Acute diseases do not have a long term effect on our body whereas chronic diseases have a long term effect on our body. We are well after 2-3days, if we have acute diseases but we get very sick, cannot do our work properly and have to take full body rest, if we are affected by the chronic diseases.
Hope it helps!
