Actually the difference is that the dye is used for colouring but the ink is used for writing

√ Dye is totally dissolved in water.
√ Dye does not form a layer in container.
√ Dye is used for colouring the clothes purpose.
whereas
√ Ink does not totally dissolved in water.
√ Ink forms a small layer in container.
√ Ink is used for writing purpose.
