Layer of Ozone (O3) is present in the stratosphere of our earth. This layer acts as a shield and observe or reflect all the harmful UV Ray's that if entered in the atmosphere and we came in their contact will cause a lot of damage.
this layer however is damaged due to various reasons such as excessive release of chlorine and bromine from man made compounds such as CFC (clurofluro carbon) and halons gases found in aerosols spray cans and refrigerators.
Damage in Ozone layer will be a concern because its depletion has many harmful effects on our environment, such as increase in amount of UVB that reaches our earth. Researchs has showed that increased exposure to UVB Ray's can cause non melanoma cancer. it will also cause a lot of damage to plant life and animal life on earth. it will also effect the physical and chemical nature of soil.
We can save this depletion on our own level by avoiding the purchase of aerosol sprays containing Cluroflurocarbon. Avoiding the use of fire extinguishers containing halogeneted hydrocarbon ( a substance very aggressive to ozone layer) and avoiding burning insulated materials made of Cluroflurocarbon.
Vienna convention tge Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the ozone layer waz negotiated and signed by 24 countries.

⭐⭐⭐DAMAGE TO THE OZONE : A CAUSE OF CONCERN⭐⭐⭐

⇒ The Ozone layer is the layer due to which life can sustain on Earth.

⇒  The Ozone layer protects us from the harmful ultraviolet radiations. of the Sun.

⇒ Thus if there is no Ozone layer , life would simply not exist.

⇒ Hence the depletion of the ozone layer is definitely a matter of concern as it would lead to the great loss of mankind.

⇒ If the damage of the layer continues like this :

▶ It would increase the risk of skin cancer.

▶ The harmful ultraviolet radiations are even capable of causing mutations or biological changes in our body cells

▶ It can lead to loss of eye sight in a person

▶ It leads to damage of skin pigmentation

▶ It hence leads to the disturbances in the ecology of Nature

▶ It also damages immune system

⇒ If the ozone layer is damaged , then this would lead to the above consequences

⇒ Thus the damage to the ozone layer is really a matter of concern.

⭐⭐⭐STEPS TAKEN TO AVOID THE DAMAGE⭐⭐⭐

⇒ The steps are taken to prevent damage of ozone are to stop the usage of Ozone depleting substances ( ODS ) because they are responsible for chemically reacting with Ozone and changing it.

⇒ ODS include chlorofluorocarbons ( CFC s ) . These are organic compounds released from refrigerators , air conditioners , etc.

⇒ So , the alternatives of the CFC s  should be used

These are the necessary steps other than using alternatives :

▶ Organizing international treaties ( Eg : Montreal Protocol ) to control ozone depletion

▶ Restriction in the use of A.Cs .

▶ Control of trade of the Ozone depleting substances .

▶ Control in the production of the Ozone depleting substances.
