1st battle of tarrain took place in 1191 CE near Thanesar .

It was fought between the Indian ruler Prithviraj Chauhan and Muhammad Gori .

Muhammad Gori entered in India through Khyber pass.At that time ,the province of eastern Punjab was under control of Prithviraj Chauhan.

Prithviraj Chauhan got allerted and the battle started . Muhammad Gori was wounded badly .

Prithviraj Chauhan won the first battle of tarrain.

2nd battle of tarrain took place in 1192 CE .

Gori army attacked Prithviraj Chauhan while he was asleep. Rajputs had tradition of fighting from sunrise to set. They suffered loss due to surprise attack.

Prithviraj Chauhan was defeated .

This paved the way for foundation of Muslim ruler in India.
