(x+y)(2x+y) + (x+2y)(x-y)
= x(2x+y) + y(2x+y) + x(x-y) + 2y(x-y)
= 2x² + xy + 2xy + y² + x² - xy +2xy - 2y²
= 3x² - y² + 4xy

Now for the second question.

4y(3y²+5y-7) + 2(y³-4y²+y)
= 12y³ + 20y² - 28y + 2y³ - 8y² + 2y
= 14y³ + 12y² - 26y
