the poem not the marble not the gilded monuments is written by william shakespeare. this poem is about friendship and time. in the first stanza poet wanted to say that those marble or gold plated monuments built by princess and the king to be remain alive in the memory of peoples . but with the passage of time these monuments , get damaged or destroyed but the poet and the memory of poet's friend is not affected by time. the word of the poem remain alive even after the end of the monuments.

in second stanza the poet wanted to say that the war destroy , damage or uprooted the creativity of the masons , but the mars or even the god of the war and the fast moving fire will not be able to affect or damage the poem, and this poem remain alive in the memory of reader's and his friend.

further poet wanted to say that neither death nor unknown enemies shall fade away the memory of the poet's friend . the poet's friend will be praised in the eye of and the heart of the coming generation through this poem.

the memory of his friend will last till the day on which the last judgement will occur . the poet and his friend will live in the eyes of all the lovers till the  day of judgement in the form of poem and it's words.

the poet says that this piece of poetry will remain alive longer than the stone statues and gold plated monument built by Royal men. the poet's beloved the soldier referred to as you shall be remembered through his powerful poetry. in comparison to the statues which will be neglected and wear out with the passage of time the poetry will remain shining and fresh as ever. through the poetry The poet's beloved will also shine for all times to come.


the poet says that was the west full HD destroy the statues built by Royal men. such fights are destructive as they destroy the dead monument and turn them into ruins. this poetry that has been written in the memory of the brave man cannot be destroyed even by the greatest Warrior mars. it will survive through all the wars.


even after his death and in face of all the his Enemies the brave man shall remain alive through this poem. all the generation that will be born on this earth till the end of the world will read this poem and plays the poets beloved.

the poet refers to the judgement day when the dead will arrive out of their Graves and Jesus Christ will depend on the earth to judge their acts. he says that till the day of judgement when his beloved will arrive out of her Grave he will remain alive through this poem. everyone who did the poem will praise the brave man and does he shall leave in the eyes of his be loved.
