Explanation:

  1. Identify all the elements in the equation, H,O, and Cl
  2. Identify net charge.....but this equation lacks one which makes it easy
  3. Cl is found in ClO4 and ClO2 so we can begin with it
  4. You have 1 Cl on both ClO4 and ClO2 meaning  they are balanced
  5. Looking at H2 it only appears on one side of the equation hence it doesn't require any balancing
  6. Finally for Oxygen on the reaction side we have a total of 6, 2 from H2O2 and 4 from ClO4 while on the product side of the reaction we have a total of 4 initially, 2 from ClO2 and 2 from O2
  7. To make the equation balanced, we have to add 2 to the O2 on the product side to bring it to a total of 6 Oxygen....
