polygamy was a tradition in hinduism which meant having more than one wife.... any hindi had right to marry more than one girl as u can now see in Islam... it is now very much prevailed in Islam...... although polygamy has been banned by the gov. for hindus but it has not been so for Islam..... coz gov doest not dares so much to interfere is islamic religion
