( ii ). In rectangle,

Length = 50m

Width, w1 = 21 + 3.5 + 3.5 = 28 m [ For whole rectangle ]

Width, w2 = 3.5 [ For shaded rectangle ]

Area of shaded part in the rectangle = 2 × [ L × B ]

= 2 × 50 × 3.5 = 350 m^2

In two semicircle ( or 1 circle comprising two semicircles ),

Diameter of circle ( 2 semicircles ) = 28 m

RADIUS = 28 /2 = 14 m

Area of bigger circle ( 2 semicircles ) = pi r ^2 = 22 /7 × 14 × 14 = 616 m^2

AREA of smaller circle ( 2 semicircles ),

Diameter = 21 m

RADIUS = 21 / 2 = 10.5 m

Area of smaller circle = 22 / 7 × 10.5 × 10.5 = 346.50 m^2

AREA of shaded part in circle ( 2 semicircles ) = Area of circle - Area of smaller circle

=> ( 616 - 346. 50 ) m^2 = 269.50 m^2

AREA of shaded region = Area of shaded part in circle + Area of shaded part in 2 rectangular strips.

=> ( 269.50 + 350 ) m^2

 <h4>=> 619.50 m^2

izmatasneen: how did u get diameter of 2 semicircles as 28??
izmatasneen: huh..?
Anonymous: Answer is correct or not.?
Anonymous: Diameter of outer semicircle is 28 m. ( 21 + 3.5 + 3.5 = 28 m )
izmatasneen: yes the answer is correct
Anonymous: Thanks..
