Total no of outcomes = 39

i) P (E) = 3/39 = 1/13
ii) P(E) = 13/39 = 1/3
iii) P (E) = 39/39 = 1
iv) P (E) = 0/ 39 = 0

Hope this will help you!!!☺☺☺

We know that total number of cards in a deck = 52.

We know that the Total number of hearts = 13.

Given that Rahim takes out all the hearts from the cards.

Total number of possible outcomes n(S) = 39(52 - 13).

Now,

(1) Let A be the event of picking out an ace from remaining cards.

n(A) = 3/39.

Required probability p(A) = n(A)/n(S)

                                           = 3/39

                                           = 1/13.

(2) Let B be the event of picking out a diamond.

n(B) = 13.

Required probability P(B) = n(B)/n(S)

                                           = 13/39

                                           = 1/3.

(3) Let C be the event of picking out a card that is not a heart.

N(C) = 39

Required probability P(C) = n(C)/n(S)

                                           = 39/39.

                                          = 1.

(4) Let D be the event of picking out the ace of hearts.

n(D) = 0.  --------- No ace of hearts in the deck.

Required probability P(D) = n(D)/n(S)

                                           = 0/39

                                           = 0.

Hope this helps!
