The personality who is above in the picture is Anandi Joshi. She was one of the famous doctor in India. Her full name was Anandibai Gopalrao Joshi. She was the first woman in Indian Subcontinent to study and graduate western medicine in United States. She was the fist woman doctor in India.

She served as physician to many Indians. She learnt some of her education like Marathi, Kannada etc from her husband Gopalrao. She also got appreciation from the queen Victoria. Documents at the Drexel University College of Medicine Archives and Special Collections on Women in Medicine. She served and saved many Tuberculosis patients.

As, a first woman doctor she apent her small life in United States of America in serving the America. She was suffering with tuberculosis. She served there until the last stage of tuberculosis. Finally, she died when returning to India.
