It won't let me post the answer, said it contained some rude words, I swear to my life it never contained any of 'em. So, I had to post it in the form of a PDF. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

(Before you read: Its a mystery-crime solving story. I know the concept is very dark but I'm just obsessed with plot twists idk why. And it's written Not from the point of view of exams. And ik I'm late but ig it's worth a read. And I didn't risk adding fantasy. It's completely based on true and amazing facts. And I surely made it clear. The mystery will be solved by the end)

"Businessman, Peter Hartley shot dead by an unknown miscreant"
"Violence is not acceptable"
"Justice must be served to the 46-year old victim"
With a sigh, I gave my semester exams result to my dad, "I couldn't do it."
Without looking, he said calmly, "C'mere sweetheart. It's alright. You pulled out all the stops and you're not the one to blame anyway. You got a gifted genius mind in there. What's happened has happened, there's no point in ruminating over the past. Shake it off." I couldn't muster up courage to look into his eyes sparkling with glow of hope and expectation.
"And we decided to go on a 7-day trip to Orlando. Everything's packed. So, we're leaving tomorrow!"
"Orlando? Tomorrow? Are you kidding me? I wanted to go there for so long. You're the best dad ever", I rejoiced and hugged him tight.
My stepmother, Amy was standing in the corner, smirking.
Through the window pane, the gunshot echoed deafeningly in the room. The bullet punched its way through dad's back, and he fell to the ground, a pool of blood forming around him, the warmth of life stolen by the cold embrace of death. I screamed. My s'mom called the police and an ambulance. He clenched his fists in an attempt to control his pain, smiled and said, "You wanted to become a scientist, right? Become. It's your destiny. And stay away from St–" I held him tight into my arms, sobbing. I wasn't ready to say goodbye.
Within seconds, Officers arrived and secured the crime scene and began to click pictures. The investigators questioned, "Did you saw who shot the gun?"
"No", Amy replied. "Everything happened so suddenly, that no one was able to notice anything".
"Did he quarrel with anyone around?"
"Maybe, I don't know."
Amy was acting kind of weird. It felt like she was trying to hide something. Our little family was all messed up. I was hoping against hope that everything will be back into its place.
The investigators had their suspicion on a man named Stone Edwards. He was around 39 and was average-height with brown hair and green eyes. The color of his eyes was exactly like mine. When he was called, he looked sad as if he almost cried. Amy started acting a little weird around him.
There was a rumour that Stone was jealous of my father's money. And he wanted to kill him.
"Where were you these days? Were you anywhere around Peter's house?", the investigator questioned Stone.
He replied, "I was not anywhere near the Peter's house."
"Good, good, I would to like to present these fingerprints found on the window of the building exactly opposite to their apartment from where even a noob could fire the gun perfectly. The fingerprints, surprisingly are yours. But I'm confused as you claimed to be 'not around'."
The other investigator said, "I have this camera footage. You should check this out." The footage was played. It was Amy talking to a few men around midnight and she even gave them some money.
Now, I didn't know whom to trust. I wanted my dad back. Even when I knew he was there. With me. Holding my hand. I was missing my real mom, Maria, who was no more.
They called me, this time, for interrogation, "How much did you score? In these semester exams?", he asked.
I hesitated and then said, "Not good."
"I want you to tell me the reason. Your grades are coming down since Peter married Amy. Is it because they both had severe fights? Is that right, Nate?"
"Yes, she used to start fights with both of us for no reason."
They started making theories. One believed that Amy married Peter in greed of his money. That midnight, she gave money to the gang men to kill Peter so that she could be the owner of all of his property.
Everything was getting so complicated. I wanted it all to end like a nightmare. I wanted to wake up from this terrifying dream. I was just wishing she never came into our lives.
A man came running to the investigators with the camera footage and some witnesses. It was the footage of Stone getting into the building where his fingerprints were found the same evening when my dad died. The witnesses claimed that Stone went into the room and came out shocked after the gun was fired.
After a few court trials, the jury announced Stone as guilty.
The question that remained was "Why?" And "What now?"
"My daughter, I'm sorry. I- I gave you an awful life. I should be punished", Stone looked at me with his sorrowful eyes and continued, crying, "Your mother would be so proud of you. When you were a month old, she died in an accident saving you. Being a scientist is tough.
