Battle of Plassey :

Battle of Plassey was one of the important battles in the history of India. This battle was fought between British and Bengal Nawab Sirajuddaula. Bengal was one of the important state during the East India company was setup in Bengal. Robert Clive was appointed as governor general of Bengal. Robert Clive wanted to conquer Bengal. He wanted to replace Sirajuddaula with a puppet. After the black hole incident Robert Clive became more furious on Bengal Nawab. So he bribed commander in Cheif MirJafar and many others. They all turned against Sirajuddaula. On 23rd June 1757 at Plassey near Calcutta there took place a battle called as Battle of Plassey where Siraj ud daula was killed.

Battle of Buxar :

After making Mir Jafar as the ruler of Bengal British were unsatisfied with Mir Jafar hence they made Mir Qasim nephew of Mir Jafar as the Nawab of Bengal. But Qasim broken the trust of British. He also made British unsatisfy. Mir Jafar was made again the ruler of Bengal. Then Mir Qasim made an alliance with Shuja ud daula the Nawab of Awadh and Mughal emperor Shah Alam II.

On 21st October in 1764 at Buxar near Patna this alliance was defeated by British under Munro.

Battle of Buxar has a great importance in

history of India as this battle shown how

weak our local rulers were.
