who are you sentence is not just a normal sentence for introduction
if we simply ask who are you then we are asking name or some details
but when this same question is asked with attitude or little differently then it doesn't want your some details. ... the person wants to know about family or your intelligence level or may be your status
its all depends how the person is asking and what the person wants to know
