This story named “Bringing up Kari” is a story about a baby elephant named Kari and a nine year old boy. The bonding between them became strong when once Kari saved him. Kari was a really mischievous baby.

One day, he smelled some bananas and wanted them anyway, like even by stealing the bananas. The narrator (nine year old boy) scolded him for his mischief.

He also taught Kari (baby elephant) to sit and and walk. The hardest thing to teach Kari was the master's call. Masters call was simply a loud sound that can help the lost one to reach home. It took almost 5 years for Kari to learn this skill.

➡ We can see that the pavilion was built on a thick tree stem, it was because, this would ensure that Kari would not fall on bumping against the poles.
