Define orbital velocity how it is related with escape velocity

yuvrajkj: If a body is outside earth, its centripetal force is pushing it outwards and Earth's gravity is pulling it inwards
uniquegirl288: thank you
yuvrajkj: so to remain in Earth's orbit, the object needs a particular velocity which is called
yuvrajkj: orbital velocity
yuvrajkj: Now if you throw a ball upwards, it will come back.
yuvrajkj: no matter how hard you throw, it will come back
yuvrajkj: the velocity required by an object to esacpe Earth's orbit is called escape velocity

Orbital speed....

To maintain an orbit at a distance of r above the center of the planet, the object need to maintain a speed, that is orbital speed.

Formula for orbital speed....

V• = √GM1/r

Orbital speed and escape velocity are different.

The relation between orbital speed and escape velocity is...

escape velocity=√2times orbital speed.

Answer:

V e 2=2V o 2. Hence, V e=2 1/2 V o (Here r=Re +h ; if h. Orbital velocity is the speed that an object must maintain in order to orbit another object. Escape velocity is the speed at which an object would break orbit.
