Lord Curzon, then Viceroy of India partitioned Bengal in October 1905.

The Muslim dominated East to East Bengal and Hindu dominated West to West Bengal.

This infuriated the Hindus and Muslims alike leading to anti-partition movement and subsequent reunification of both areas in 1911 by Lord Hardinge.

Swadeshi Movement is part of India’s struggle for feeedom from the British Empire.

It called for boycotting of British goods.

Swadeshi Movement exhorted Indians to use locally produced goods.
