Hey user

Here is your answer :-

Let the numerator of the fraction be " m "and the denominator be " n " .

The sum of numerator and denominator is 3 less than twice the denominator

By this condition we get equation,

m + n = 2n - 3

》m - n = - 3. . . . ( 1 )

If both the numerator and denominator are decreased by 1 , the numerator becomes half the denominator.

By this condition we get equation ,

2( m - 1 ) = n - 1

》2m - 2 = n - 1

》2m - n = 1. . . . ( 2 )

Subtracting equation ( 1 ) from equation ( 2 ) we get ,

m = 4

Putting m = 4 in equation ( 1 )

4 - n = - 3

》n = 4 + 3

》n = 7

So the required fraction is 4/7 .

Thank you .
