Reflection of Light:- The bouncing back of light in the same medium is called reflection of light.
Refraction of Light:-The bending of light waves when light travels from one transparent medium to another transparent medium is called refraction of light.

Reflection of Light....

When a ray of light approaches a smooth polished surface and the light ray bounces back, it is called the reflection of light. The incident light ray which lands upon the surface is said to be reflected off the surface. The ray that bounces back is called the reflected ray. If a perpendicular were to be drawn on reflecting surface, it would be called the normal.



Refraction of Light....

In air or in water light can be thought of as consisting of straight lines called rays. But when light goes from air into water (or any one transparent medium into another) rays get bent at the interface between the air and the water. One says that the rays are refracted at the interface and the phenomenon is called refraction. Rays perpendicular to the interface do not get bent.
