xy =1443 eqn 2
put x =2+y in eqn 2

(2+y)y =1443
2y + y² = 1443
y²+2y-1443 =0

by using splitting middle term

y²+39y-37y-1443

y (y+39)-37 (y+39)

(y+39) (y-37) ans
y+39 = 0 or y-37 =0
y = -39 or y= 37
