The central idea of the poem Fire and Ice is that the poet is asking that whether our desires kill us or the hateness kills us.

In this poem fire is referred to our desires. He wants to ask by it that if our desires don't come true then r we going to be killed by it or commit suicide.

Then it comes about the ice. Ice refers to the harness that we have in our mind for others. By this the poet wants to ask that does this heteness kills us. Or whether we just heard people all through the life and at last we die.

The poet is confused and does not have the proper answer to it.

This question can surely come in the board exams. Prepare it well.
