hiii!!!

here is ur answer...

given :-

altitude of the trapezium = 10dm = 1m

ATQ, one of the parallel side is 8dm (0.8m) longer than the other.

let the shorter parallel side be x.

therefore the longer parallel side is x + 0.8

area of the trapezium = 1.6m²

==> 1/2 × h ( b1 + b2 ) = 1.6m²

==> 1/2 × 1 ( x + x + 0.8 ) = 1.6m²

==> 1/2 ( 2x + 0.8 ) = 1.6m²

==> 2x + 0.8 = 1.6/1 × 2/1

==> 2x + 0.8 = 3.2

==> 2x = 3.2 - 0.8

==> 2x = 2.4

==> x = 2.4/2

==> x = 1.2

hence, shorter parallel side of the trapezium = 1.2m

and longer parallel side = 1.2 + 0.8

= 2m

hope this helps..!!

Answer:

heya!!!

Given area of trapezium = 1.6 sq m

Altitude, h = 10 dm = 1 m

Let one of the parallel sides be x then the other side will be (x + 0.8) m

Recall that area of trapezium, A = (1/2) * h * (a + b)

=> 1.6 = (1/2) * 1 * (x + x + 0.8)

=> 1.6 * 2 = x + x + 0.8)

=> 3.2 = 2x + 0.8

=> 2x = 3.2 - 0.8 = 2.4

Therefore, x = 1.2 m

and x + 0.8 = 1.2 + 0.8 = 2 m

Thus, the parallel sides are 1.2 m and 2 m
