The process of cooling a hot concentrated solution of a substance to obtain cristal is called crystallisation.


Example - Sugar solution, copper sulphate solution, alum solution etc.



The benefit of crystallisation is that we can get pure substance as a form of crystal.

1)Heat a pan of water.

2)Choose your salt.

3)Stir in as much salt as you can.

4)Pour the water into a clean jar.

5)Add food coloring (optional).

6)Tie a string around a pencil.

7)Cut the string the correct size to dangle in the water.

8)Balance the pencil on top of the glass jar
