enzymes are macromolicular biological catalyst . enzymes accelerate chemical reactions.

the molecules upon which upon enzymes may act are called substrate and enzymes convert the substrate into different molecules known as product.

Here's the Answer :

Enzymes are a group of catalysts functioning in biological systems .

More Explanation :

They are usually proteinaceous substances produced by living cell that catalyse biochemical reactions without themselves being changed in the process . Enzymes occurs in colloidal state and are often produced in inactive form called proenzymes or zymogens . These are converted to active enzymes in presence of specific factor like pH , substrate etc.

With a few exception , all known enzymes are proteins but all proteins are not enzymes .
