IT IS ALSO CALLED AS WINDPIPE.

It emerges from the end of the larynx and runs down the neck.

Its walls contains C shaped rings of cartilage to make sure that air passage does not collapse.

The rings provide it flexibility and keep trachea distended permanently.


It helps in preventing dust particles and harmful microorganisms from entering the lungs
