Here is your answer

Atomic Number First

The total number of protons in the nucleus of an atom gives us the atomic number of that atom.

It is represented with the letter ‘Z.’

Atomic Mass Now

The number of protons and neutrons combined give us the mass number of an atom.

It is represented using the letter ‘A.’

For the difference between carbons atomic mass and number

Carbon has 6 protons, 6 electrons and 6 neutrons. So the atomic number is 6 as the number of protons is 6. The mass number is 12 as the sum of protons and neutrons is 12.

Tumhe Topic Samaj Aa Gaya hoga

The total number of protons in the nucleus of an atom is called as atomic number of that particular atom .
atomic number of carbon is 6 beacuse the no of protons in a carbon is 6
And as because the sum of its proton and neutron is 6+6 so it's atomic mass number is 12 .
Hope it helps u mate!!!!!
