Answer the Question :-

The parallel sides of a trapezium are 20 cm and 10 cm. Its non-parallel sides are both equal, each being 13 cm. Find the area of the trapezium.

Area=1/2 *sum of parallel sides * 12

1/2*30*12

Given:-

parallel side measures-

20 cm

10cm

non-parallel sides measure:-

13 cm

to find:-

area of trapezium

Solution:-

height:-

a^2=b^2+c^2

13^2=5^2+c^2

169=25=c^2

c^2=169-25

c^2=144

c=12cm

height:- 12cm

area of trapezium:-

1/2(sum of parallel side)height

1/2(20+10)12

1/2*30*12

180cm^2
