Heya User,

Answer the Question :-

The surface area of a sphere is 2464 dm². Find its diameter.

Anonymous: Let outer radius be r2 and inner radius=r1, height be h

So total surface area=2*pi*h*(r2+r1) + 2*pi* (r2^2 -r1^2)

Since h=22cm, r2=7cm,r1=7–1=6cm

So total surface area=2*(22/7)*22*(13) + 2*(22/7)*(49–36)

=44*(13/7)*(23)

=1879.43cm^2

Your Answer:

Formula of surface area of sphere

= 4 π r²

A/Q

Surface area of sphere = 2464 dm²

4 π r² = 2464

r² = 2464 ÷ 4 π

r² = 2464*7/4*22

r² = 17248 / 4 * 22

r² = 4312÷22

r² = 196

r = √196

r = 14

So,

Diameter = 2 * radius = 2*14 = 28 dm = 280 cm [1 dm = 10 cm ]

Answer:

28 dm

Step By Step Explanation:

Given:

Surface Area of Sphere is 2464 dm².

To Find: Diameter = ?

According To The Condition:

Surface Area of Sphere = 2464 dm²

⇒ 4πr² = 2464

⇒ 4 × 22 / 7 × r² = 2464

⇒ 4 × 22 × r² = 2464 × 7

⇒ 88 × r² = 17248

⇒ r² = 17248 / 88

⇒ r = √196

⇒ r = 14 dm

Again,

Diameter = 2 × Radius

               ⇒ 2 × 14 dm

            ⇒ 28 dm

Hence, Its required diameter is 28 dm.
