HEY THERE!!!

Question:

The length of the rectangle is 3 more twice the breadth of rectangle. if the length is reduced by 5 units and breadth increased by 3 units the area remains same. find the dimensions of the original rectangle and also the area.

Solution:-

Let the breadth be x Centimeters

Then,

The length will be= x+3 Centimeters

Area of the rectangle = x(x+3) cm²   --(A)

According to the Question;-

Given :-

length is increased by 9cm = x + 3 + 9 = x + 12 cm.

Given:-

Breadth is reduced by 5cm =) x - 5 cm.

Area of the rectangle = (x+12)(x-5).   --- (2)

solving Equation by (1) and (2)So,we get Value

x(x+3) = (x+12)(x-5)

x²+ 3x = x² + 7x - 60

4x = 60

x =  15.

Breadth = 15cm.

Length = 15 + 3 = 18 cm.

Hence, Area of Rectangle= 18×15=270cm²

Thank you!!!
