what is plasmid?

Genetic material in prokaryotic cellb

is irregular circular and present in nucleoid (genophore)

Nucleiod = DNA which is in direct contact in cytoplasm

in this genophore = DNA ---> mRNA ----> proteins

Other than nucleiod

other chromatin genetic material is also present which is know as plasmid

Functions =

  1. phenotypic expression
  2. .****Vector ( because it transfer genetic material from one generation to next generation) ***

Antibiotics resistances

  1. transfer of genetic material

It doesn't allow sexual reproduction whereas it allowed

sexual recombination

1 transformation

2 transduction

3 conjugation

4 sex duction

It all required plasmid
