Defination - Local Winds

=> Local winds are the air Currents which flow only in a particular area.

LOCAL WINDS prevailing in INDIA :

• Loo is a dry, dusty , hot and harmful local Wind.

• India has a local Wind named as ' Loo ' which flows in the western Indo-Gangetic Plain region on India.

• Loo ends in the summer end and the monsoon winds arrive.

• It is strong in the months of May and June.

Local Wind occur in a small scale. They also tend to short lived for few hours in a day. Local Winds are comprises of cold wind, warm wind, wet wind and Dry wind.

Katabatic Wind.
Anabatic wind.
Foehn Wind and
Land Breeze.
