Old Days Services And New Days Services by PostOffice
In older days postcard and letters were the cheapest means of communication. It was only means , through which people could communicate. Earlier, people would eagerly wait for the post cards and the letters from family members or acquaintance. A postman used to bring those letters which was written in cream coloured postcards are folded blue inland letters.
In those days, postcard and inland letters used to be the most popular format and at some places it was the only means of Postal communication. A postcard, which cost 50 paise each and the inland letter at rupees 2.50 are still the most affordable mode of communication for majority of the people.
Some postcards where also called Meghdoot postcards, used to carry advertisements and their price was even cheaper at only 25 paise each.
But now-a-days, very few number of people use these services today. In fact, people now preferred courier, E-mail and SMS over post. And, in the post office, many new facilities are added, such as speed post for instant letters. Now, we can deliver many things, packages. Money order can be Done. We can parcel everything except few articles whose transmission is restricted.
★ OLD DAYS :
(i) There was very less facilities provided by post office.
(ii) There were Telegram services in old days
(iii) We were able to send only letters, we can't send anything else.
(iv) It what's time taking because manual labours were involved.
★ PRESENT DAYS
(i) Now-a-days, we have modern services like speed post, money order, courier etc.
(ii) It is not taking much time now, there is time efficiency.
(iii) Posts are now delivered through motor vehicles, aeroplane, etc.
(iv) We have speed post facilities now.
