☆ Hey friend ☆

=================
Here is your answer----------
=================

Potetiometer :--
============
It is a device which is used to measure the EMF of cell, comparing the EMF of two cells and to measure the internal resistance of a cell.

☆Principle of
============
Potentiometer :--
=============
Whenever a steady current flows through a wire of uniform area of cross-section and then the potential drop across the wire is directly proportional to the length of the wire.
☆ v is directly proportional to l
v=kl
k = v/l [ Potential gradient]
SI unit of it's is Volt/meter

☆Formula for determining the EMF of cell:--
E= vl'/l
Here, E is EMF of cell
l' is length on potentiometer wire at which galvanometer show null deflection.
l is the length of potentiometer wire

☆ Formula for comparing the EMF of two cells:--
E1 /E2 = l1/ l2
Here E1 = EMF of first cell
E2 = EMF of second cell
l1 = length on potentiometer at which first cell's null deflection is shown
l2 = length on potentiometer at which second cell's null deflection is shown

☆ Formula for determining Internal resistance of cell:--
r = [l1 - l2]/ l2 × R
r = internal resistance
R = Resistance selected by resistance box

Hope it will help you!

Thanks!

A potentiometer has 3 pins. Two terminals (the blue and green) are connected to a resistive element and the third terminal (the black one) is connected to an adjustable wiper.
