we know that
Cos2A = 1 - tan²A /1+tan²A
now
Cos2A + Cos2A tan²A = 1 - tan²A
so
tan²A (1 + Cos2A) = 1 - Cos2A
then
tanA = (1- Cos2A/1+Cos2A )½
