Answer:

Fission - It is the type of asexual reproduction in which the body of an organism divides into several parts to form new organism.

Difference between binary fission and multiple fission

Binary fission - When the body of an organism divides into 2 parts.

ex - Amoeba

Multiple fission - When the body of an organism divides into more than 2 parts.

It occurs in unfavorable condition

ex - Plasmodium

More to know -

Process in binary fission -

  • It occurs in unicellular organism

  • when the cell reaches it's full size of growth. it's nucleus lengthens and divided into 2 parts

  • Then it's cytoplasm divided and 2 smaller amoeba forms.

  • when this 2 smaller amoeba reaches it's full size again they form 4 smaller amoeba

Process in multiple fission -

  • It also occur in unicellular organism

  • The cell has the protective wall to survive in harsh condition.

  • It is called cyst it forms around the cell whenever the condition is harsh

  • Under the cyst the Nucleus splits several times to form small nuclie

  • Thin membrane and little bit cytoplasm are formed.

  • When the favourable condition arrives, the cyst breaks.

  • The daughter cell ( nuclei formed) releases.

  • Each forming new organism.
