Given in the question

• C = 80%
• H = 20 %

So ,in 100 g of compound these will be

=> H = 20 g
=> C = 80 g

We know that :- Atomic mass of H= 1
Atomic mass of C = 12


Let us take out mole

=> moles of C = 80 / 12 = 6.667 = 20/3

=> moles of H = 20 / 1 = 20

(( multiply both side by 3 ))

=> C => 20

=> H => 60

That is = C20H60



• Empirical Formulae => CH3

• Molecular Formulae => C2H6
