 \frac{1}{2 \alpha }  +  \frac{1}{2 \beta }  =  \frac{2 \alpha  + 2 \beta }{4 \alpha  \beta }  \\  =  \frac{2( \alpha  +  \beta )}{4( \alpha  \beta )}  \\  =  \frac{2 \times  \frac{ - b}{a} }{4 \times  \frac{c}{a} }  \\  =  \frac{ - b}{2c}
