Ludhiana. Ludhiana is a centrally located district in Malwa region ofPunjab state in India. Its northern periphery is demarcated by river Sutlej, which separates Ludhiana from Jalandhar. This major town of Punjabis quite aptly called as “theManchester of India” for its production of hosiery products.

The largest city in the state of Punjab, Ludhiana is located on the banks of Sutlej River. It is also known as India's Manchester as it proves to be a major industrial center of Northern India. The city is located 98 km west of Chandigarh.
Ludhiana is a major industrial center of India. The industrial products and hosiery manufactured in Ludhiana are not only used with in India but they are also exported to different regions of the world.
