Synapseis a small gap that occurs between the axon of one neuron and dendrite of the next neuron i.e. between two consecutive neurons. ... These chemical messengers cross the synapse and starts a similar electrical impulse in the next neuron.

The gap between two adjacent neurons is called synapse . At synapse , a chemical substance is produced at the end of axon of one nerve cell that reaches to the other nerve cell through the dendrite . Thus , information is transmitted from one nerve cell to other nerve cell by synapse .
