  1. The people were asked not to corporate with the British Government.
  2. Foreign goods were boycotted and swadeshi spirit was inculcated.
  3. Liquor shops were picketed.
  4. Foreign clothes were burned in huge bonfires.
  5. At many places merchants and traders refused to trade on foreign goods or finance foreign traders.
  6. Students left the government owned school and colleges.
  7. Lawyers gave up their legal practises.

  1. People were asked to break laws.
  2. The countrymen broke the salt law.
  3. Peasants refuse to pay revenue and chaukidari tax.
  4. Village officials re-signed from their jobs.
  5. Forest people violated forest rules and laws.
  6. Workers protested against low wages and poor working conditions.
  7. Peoples Broke salt law and started manufacturing salt on sea beaches.
