Let the no. be x .

A/Q, (x - 13)/17 = 4

⇒ x - 13 = 68

∴ x = 68 + 13 = 81.

The number is 81.

Step-by-step explanation:

To find The number from which 13 is subtracted.

Formula Used

Dividend= Divisor X Quotient + Remainder

Given

i) 13 is subtracted from a number

ii)Difference of 13 and number is divided by 17 giving the quotient 4 and remainder 0.

Let the required number be x and their difference (x-13) be y.

We know y is divided by 17 to give 4 as quotient and 0 as remainder.

so, according to the formula

Dividend= Divisor X Quotient + Remainder

y=17X4+0

y=68

Now, we know that y is actually the difference between the number and 13 so we have,

x-13=68

x=81.

So the required number is 81.
