a⁴ - (a-b)⁴

=(a²)² - [(a-b)²]²

= [a²-(a-b)²][a²+(a-b)²]

***********************

We know the algebraic identity:

x² - y² = (x-y)(x+y)

**********************

=[a-(a-b)][a+(a-b)][a²+a²-2ab+b²]

=(a-a+b)(a+a-b)(2a²-2ab+b²)

= b(2a-b)(2a²-2ab+b²)

••••
