Let a ,b,c are the sides of a triangle and a and b are the opposite and equal sides of a triangle.

We know that opposite sides of an isosceles triangle are equal.

So, a=b

3x-1=2x+2

3x-2x=2+1

( x= 3)Ans.

Let us now find the sides of the triangle,

a=3x-1

a=3(3)-1

(a=8 units)

(b=8 units )( opposite sides are equal)

c=2x

c=2×3

(c=6 units)

Now,finding the perimeter of the triangle

Perimeter of the triangle= Sum of all sides of a triangle

=8+8+6

=22 units
