⇒To find the quartile we have to arrange the data in an Ascending order

⇒After rearranging the data in an Ascending order, we get 30,31,32,33,34,35,36,37,38,39,40

We know that,

First quartile (Q₁) = (n+1)/4= (11+1)/4= 12/4= 3rd observation

Thus, Q₁= 32

Similarly,

Third Quartile (Q₃) = 3(n+1)/4= 3(11+1)/4= 36/4 = 9th observation

Thus, Q₃= 38

Hence, the first quartile is 32 and third quartile is 38.
